MORROW, Ga. - The No. 8 University of North Georgia women's soccer team closed out a dominant Peach Belt Conference regular season with a 3-0 shutout of Clayton State on Saturday afternoon at Laker Field. The Nighthawks improved to 15-1-1 overall and finished a perfect 10-0-0 in league play, securing an unblemished conference campaign for the second time in the last three seasons.

North Georgia wasted little time setting the tone, scoring all three goals in the opening 27 minutes. Senior defender
Grace McGill opened the scoring in the eighth minute, heading in a cross from
Nina Lopez for her ninth goal of the season. Just ten minutes later,
Kyleigh Drew doubled the lead with her seventh goal of the year before Lopez capped the first-half surge in the 27th minute with her eighth tally of the season to make it 3-0.

The Nighthawks dominated possession throughout, outshooting the Lakers 22-4 and placing 12 shots on goal. Goalkeepers
Isabelle Lee and
Faith Bullied combined for North Georgia's 10th ninth of the season, with Lee making two saves in the first half.

With the regular season complete, North Georgia turns its attention to postseason play, entering next week's Peach Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Nighthawks will host a quarterfinal matchup Saturday (Nov. 8) in Dahlonega.
