Biography
How Lopez got to UNG
Lopez arrived as a freshman at UNG in 2024 out of Edgewood Junior/Senior High School in Merritt Island, Fla. The midfielder had an outstanding career with the Red Wolves, scoring 34 goals while adding 36 assists over her four varsity seasons. As a senior, she helped lead an Edgewood team that was ranked No. 20 in the nation and No. 8 in the state of Florida by Max Preps. Playing with her sister, Gianna, the Lopez sisters helped the Red Wolves to a Class 3A State Champion Runner-Up performance, marking the program's first ever appearance in the state title game. As a holding midfielder with six goals and nine assists during her junior season, Lopez was named the 2023 Florida Today Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Florida Today wasn't the only outlet to take notice of Lopez in 2023 as she was also named the 2023 Breakfast of Champions Girls Soccer Player of the Year after leading her team to a 17-1 season. The following year, Lopez netted seven goals and six assists and was again named the Florida Today Girls Soccer Player of the Year, this time for 2024. In addition to the honors from Florida Today, the senior was named the 2024 Brevard Sports Network Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Edgewood went 49-4-1 and won three straight conference and district championships while making an appearance in the state title game during Lopez's four-year career.
