DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer team has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2026 season.
The Nighthawks are coming off a 2025 campaign in which they finished 18-3-1 while setting a new program record for wins in a single season, a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play and an unbeaten record on the road. UNG also secured the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Regular Season Title for the second time in the last three years.
North Georgia kicks off its 2026 season on the road against Lees-McRae on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the Nighthawks and the Bobcats since Sept. 1, 2016.
The home opener for the Nighthawks comes just three days later with a matchup against Young Harris on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. at the UNG Soccer Field at Lynn Cottrell Park.
The Nighthawks will then hit the road to take on Lee on Wednesday, Sept. 2 before returning to Dahlonega for a pair of home contests with Montevallo (Sept. 5) and Tusculum (Sept. 9) to close out the early non-conference slate.
For the second-consecutive season, North Georgia will open its PBC play against USC Beaufort, with kickoff set for Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. in Bluffton, S.C.
UNG will return to the Gold City for two home matchups with Flagler (Sept. 16) and USC Aiken (Sept. 19) before hitting the road once again to take on Columbus State on Wednesday, Sept. 23 in a rematch of last year's PBC Tournament Championship.
North Georgia will welcome the Lander to Dahlonega on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Nighthawks will then be on the road again to take on Wingate on Wednesday, Sept. 30 in a nonconference matchup. Last year, UNG took down the Bulldogs 4-3 in a thrilling season opener.
The Nighthawks return to PBC action back home against Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday, Oct. 7 before embarking on their longest stretch of games away from the UNG Soccer Field this season. North Georgia will be on the road for three-straight games against Middle Georgia (Oct. 10), Georgia College (Oct. 14) and Florida Tech (Oct. 17).
In the final game of that road slate, the Nighthawks will be taking on the reigning 2025 National Champions in Florida Tech. The Panthers finished the season 17-3-6 on their way to capturing the program's first national championship.
UNG comes back to Dahlonega for one of its biggest tests of the regular season. The Nighthawks will face off with Lenoir-Rhyne in a regional showdown on Wednesday, Oct. 21. North Georgia split its matchups with L-R last season, taking the regular season meeting 4-0 on the road before seeing its historic 2025 campaign come to an end against the Bears 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament.
The regular season will close out on Saturday, Oct. 24 at home against Clayton State.
The PBC Tournament is set to kick off on Saturday, Oct. 31 and wrap up with the championship game a week later on Saturday, Nov. 7.
North Georgia is set for another regular season with a lot of opportunities to take on some of the best women's soccer programs in the country. The Nighthawks will face three teams that ended the 2025 season nationally ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll and six teams that participated in the NCAA Tournament last year.
