NCAA Injury Surveillance Program: The University of North Georgia is part of a new task force in Division II that is looking to boost awareness — and ultimately, participation — in a long-standing NCAA data-collection program that informs decisions around student-athlete health and safety. The task force is the brainchild of the Division II Management and Presidents Councils, formed after the groups learned during their spring meetings that just 6 percent of Division II schools are participating in the NCAA Injury Surveillance Program. The Association-wide program, which has existed in some form since 1986, relies on schools' voluntary submissions to build a repository of data on student-athlete injuries and illnesses. The data is used by an array of committees, task forces and outside organizations that consider college athlete health and safety implications in their policy decisions.

Services: Services in the athletic training room include state of the art modalities such as ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, as well as other treatment methods to alleviate pain and swelling, increase strength and flexibility, and decrease risk of re-injury in the athletes treated there.  Treatment and rehabilitation take place in the 1,000 square foot athletic training room at Memorial Hall, as well as a smaller satellite facilities located in Coleman Field House and the UNG Convocation Center. A member of the athletic training staff is available at every practice and competition for the UNG teams throughout their respective seasons.

Visiting Teams: Please notify the Head Athletic Trainer if your team will be traveling without a certified athletic trainer so we can better accommodate your team’s needs. If you need to make any special arrangements for treatments please send written request with your athletes. Various modalities can be made available upon request. Please send all necessary medical supplies (tape, etc.) with your teams and please make emergency information available on all of your athletes in the event it is needed. Due to COVID-19 changes, certain accommodations for visiting teams may change or no longer be offered.  Please contact our Head Athletic Trainer for further clarification or if you will not be traveling with an ATC. Visiting Team Information Guide

Team Physician: A physician is on call for all home athletic contests. Our local staff includes a General Medical physician and an Orthopedic physician.
