University of North Georgia Athletics

Initiated in April of 2016, the student-athletes, coaches, and staff from the University of North Georgia athletic department annually gather to celebrate another highly successful year of athletics, academics and community service with the Golden Nighthawk Awards Gala.

UNG rolls out the blue carpet to celebrate the accomplishments from the season in an ESPN ESPY's style awards show honoring some of the top plays and performances of the year.

The elegant evening opens when the invitees start to make their way into the UNG Convocation Center receiving the "Blue Carpet" treatment, including the flashes of photographers and live blue carpet interviews as they socialize prior to the ceremony.

Once inside, guests are treated to an hour-long show that includes an opening highlight video, live entertainment, a full three-course meal and numerous major awards presented by student-athletes.

The Golden Nighthawk Awards Gala is broadcast by the Nighthawk Sports Network, while the "Blue Carpet Show" airs on the athletic department's official Facebook account and is shown live in the venue.
