The University of North Georgia Athletic Communications office operates within the External Operations division of the Department of Athletics. The office is responsible for the accurate and timely dissemination of information to a variety of constituencies, including members of the media, student-athletes, coaches, fans and alumni. Athletic Communications oversees coverage and promotion of all 13 varsity sports while maintaining and enhancing the brand value of Nighthawk Athletics. Core responsibilities include the development and management of content for the official athletics website (UNGAthletics.com), coordination of interviews with student-athletes and coaches, compilation and preservation of statistical records, preparation of press releases and feature stories and oversight of all broadcasts and productions as part of the Nighthawks Sports Network.

Nighthawk Sports Network
The University of North Georgia announced the launch of the Nighthawk Sports Network in the fall of 2015. The new digital network offers live broadcasts in high definition of every baseball, basketball, soccer and softball game hosted on UNG's Dahlonega campus and live audio from select road games. The Nighthawk Sports Network provides fans the ability to watch all games via a custom network website, mobile apps for iOS, Android and Amazon Fire Tablet devices and apps for popular streaming TV devices like Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.

Live Statistics
NCAA Live StatsUNG Athletics offers live statistics for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball.  SIDEARM live statistics utilize the XML output generated from Genius software to produce in game live updates. The live stats interface features team names, colors, logos, play-by-play, traditional box score information and the offers the ability to link up rosters to display player head shots and link to player bios. The live statistics offerings are compatible with all devices and can be viewed on computers, tablets and smartphones (Windows and iOS).  

Media Services
Programs, lineups, statistics, standings and game notes will be supplied at all home baseball, basketball, softball and soccer contests to accredited media representatives at press row (basketball) and in the press box (baseball, softball & soccer). Access to press row and press boxes at the Lynn Cottrell Park and Lynn Cottrell Arena are for properly credentialed individuals only. Refreshments and light meal will also be furnished in the UNG Convocation Center Pennington Hospitality Suite for credentialed media between conference basketball doubleheaders.

Visiting Broadcasts
Visiting personnel desiring to broadcast athletics events at UNG are encouraged to contact the Athletic Communications office at the earliest possible date to request permission to broadcast and confirmation of available space. All press boxes in Lynn Cottrell Park (baseball, soccer, softball) are all connected to the North Georgia fiber network. Please note, UNG's wi-fi features advanced security and may require an update for older computers.

Interviews
All interviews with UNG student-athletes and coaches should be set up through the Athletic Communications office. The best time to arrange interviews with student-athletes is in the afternoons on weekdays (when not interfering with student-athletes' class schedules). Interviews at the conclusion of all home athletic events will be held after the NCAA-mandated ten minute cooling off period.
