ROME, Ga. – The University of North Georgia men's tennis team coasted to a 6-1 non-conference road win at Shorter on Saturday afternoon. The victory pushes the Nighthawks to 3-0 on the season.
North Georgia earned another quick doubles point marking the time UNG has headed into singles with a 1-0 advantage this season. The Nighthawks swept all three lines including a 6-0 victory in the top line by
Joaquin Benoit and
Robin Eldin.
Five straight set singles victories in the heart of the lineup clinched the victory as
Tyler Cunningham earned a third set tiebreaker win at No. 6 with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (8) win over Mario Molina to sweep lines two through six.
North Georgia returns to action when the Nighthawks travel to Tusculum on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
