Nighthawk Men’s Tennis Announces Fall 2026 Schedule

8/25/2026 11:18:00 AM

DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) men's tennis team has released its fall schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

The Nighthawks are fresh off a 2025-26 campaign in which they finished 13-9 overall and posted a perfect 8-0 mark in home matches at Yahoola Creek Park in Dahlonega, Ga. UNG also secured a victory over Augusta in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament quarterfinals and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth-consecutive season.

The 2026-27 season kicks off at home for the Nighthawks at the UNG Fall Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19 at Yahoola Creek Park.

One week later, North Georgia will travel to a fellow PBC opponent for the Columbus State Fall Invitational at the John W. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus, Ga. on Sept. 25 and 26.

For the second-straight season, the Nighthawks will hit the road for the Gridiron Classic, hosted by Division I Mercer University at the Peddy Tennis Center in Macon, Ga. The three-day event will start on Oct. 2 and conclude on Oct. 4.

From Oct. 16 through Oct. 19, North Georgia will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2026 Southeast Regional in Sumter, S.C. The Nighthawks are looking to defend their title as the back-to-back men's singles Southeast Regional Champion, as Pedro Liborio became the first UNG men's tennis player in program history to win two-straight ITA Regional Championships last fall.

Should North Georgia have a third-consecutive champion at the ITA Southeast Regional, UNG will punch its ticket to the ITA Fall National Championship from Nov. 4 through Nov. 8 in Rome, Ga.
