DAHLONEGA – The No. 15 University of North Georgia men's tennis team kicked off its Peach Belt Conference schedule with a 5-2 win over Augusta on Saturday at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.
The Nighthawks sent out three new doubles teams that had not played with each other this season and head coach
Kent Norsworthy's strategy paid off as UNG earned the doubles point with wins in the first and third lines.
North Georgia clinched the conference win with four straight set singles wins led by
Giulio Sassi in the top line with a 7-5, 6-4 win.
North Georgia will take a week off before facing No. 7 West Florida on Mar. 23 in a neutral site match at Columbus State.
