MONTEVALLO, Ala. -Â A second straight victory put the University of North Georgia men's soccer team at an even .500 record on the season, defeating Montevallo 2-1 on the road. UNG battled past UM, using two first-half goals to secure a lead, holding on till the final whistle.
Max Garnett continued a string of goals, adding to his team lead in points to start the young season. The game marked many firsts this season as the Nighthawks scored for the first time in the first half after three games of late rallies. The win also marked the first road win of the season after taking a 4-0 victory on Tuesday (Sept. 5) over Erskine at home.
The Garnett goal came in the 7th minute, with

Miguel Romero, marking Romero's third of the season.
The two goals in the first half proved vital as the Falcons' attack turned more aggressive in the second half, outshooting the Nighthawks 9-2 after UNG had six shots in the first compared to just two by UM.
