DAHLONEGA - Three University of North Georgia (UNG) men's soccer student-athletes were named to the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team, the league announced, recognizing their achievements in the classroom.

The All-Academic Team, previously known as the Team of Academic Distinction, is part of the Peach Belt Conference's initiative to celebrate the academic accomplishments of its student-athletes.

To be eligible, student-athletes must compete in at least half of their team's contests as a starter or significant contributor, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Transfer students become immediately eligible upon meeting those requirements.

North Georgia's selections were seniors DJ Shin of Seoul, South Korea, Miguel Romero of Gillsville, and Haris Osmanbasic of Alpharetta.

Shin, Romero and Osmanbasic were all repeat selections to the All-Academic Team. Shin was also a 2024 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar. Osmanbasic is a previous PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar, while Romero has also earned the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

With this year's honors, UNG has now placed multiple student-athletes on the PBC Men's Soccer All-Academic Team in five consecutive seasons.
