Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Nighthawks Come Up Short on the Road at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - A man down and a goal short, the University of North Georgia men's soccer team fell just short in its non-conference road match at Young Harris, falling 2-1. UNG showed fight throughout the day, working to earn a chance for an equalizer to the final whistle.

In the 13th minute, the Mountain Lions earned an early goal by Saad Maziane (YHC), taking an early 1-0 lead. As the first half winded down, North Georgia went down to ten men after a red card for Payge Sinclair in the 39th minute.

Despite the disadvantage, UNG kept YHC in check into the break and early in the second before Young Harris found another scoring opportunity, taking advantage and grabbing a 2-0 lead. But the fight from the Nighthawks never stopped, and in the 76th minute, Tyler Vitelli, by way of an assist from Aram Lara, brought North Georgia back within one with 14 minutes remaining to look for the equalizer.

UNG falls to 2-3 on the season.
