DAHLONEGA – An 8-2 result in favor of the University of North Georgia baseball team, wrapped up the regular season schedule with a six-run Peach Belt Conference win over Claflin at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
North Georgia pulled away in the late innings, scoring once in the seventh and four times in the eighth inning.
A trio of Nighthawks finished with two RBIs as
Andrews Opata,
Tim Conway and
Nik Levensteins all recorded two RBIs in the game, with Opata tying
Jace Bowen for the team lead in hits, both earning two.
Edwin Bowman proved patient at the plate, finishing with four walks in four trips to the plate.
Matthew Heard (W, 5-3) earned the win, pitching five and two-thirds innings, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out seven.
