DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) baseball team was recognized for its success in the classroom as the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced the recipients of the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award recognizes ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

The recognition highlights the Nighthawks' commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the field during the 2025-26 season.

Following the conclusion of the spring semester, eligible programs were nominated for the award by their head coaches. To qualify, programs were required to have an ABCA-member head coach and earn a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0.

The ABCA has recognized academic achievement among baseball programs through the Team Academic Excellence Award, which honors teams that demonstrate success in the classroom while competing at a high level.
