DAHLONEGA – A surgical outing for the University of North Georgia baseball team ended with a 10-0 Peach Belt Conference victory in seven innings over Claflin at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. The Nighthawks took their time but struck hard when the runs began to come across, scoring one in the fourth before breaking out for seven runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Wes Lott (W, 6-3) finished with a complete game shutout, his fourth complete game of the season, throwing seven innings while allowing no runs and just one hit. Lott struck out five batters and issued zero walks.
Jace Bowen and
Tim Conway led the way offensively, both garnering three hits and two RBIs, with Bowen reaching base in each at-bat, earning a walk in the first inning.
Nik Levensteins and
Connor Frost joined the hit parade, finishing with two hits apiece.
Jack Davis finished with one hit, but made it count, driving in two runs on a single to keep the rally going in the fifth.
Next Up
The Nighthawks (26-22) get right back to action on Saturday (Apr. 29), with first pitch set for 1:00 p.m. as Senior Day festivities will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
