AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of North Georgia baseball team secured a Peach Belt Conference series win at Augusta with its 8-5 victory over the host Jaguars. The bullpen stepped up, and the Nighthawks rallied in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the league series finale win.
The Jaguars opened up with a three-run lead in the first inning, but UNG began to chip away, scoring two in the top of the second. Two more runs in the fifth inning gave the Nighthawks their first lead of the day, but Augusta quickly answered with one run of their own to tie the game at four.

Jack Emacio came in for relief and closed down the Jaguars lineup in the final 4 and two thirds innings, allowing just one run and two hits combined.
Five different Nighthawks had an RBI in the game, and
Justin Bailey continued his hot streak at the plate, earning three hits on five at-bats.
Jace Bowen,
Riley Frost and
Mason Steel joined Bailey in the multi-hit club, each getting two hits.

The Nighthawks will face Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday (Mar. 7) and Catawba (Mar. 8) in their midweek matchups before heading on the road to face No. 6 Columbus State (14-3, 8-1 PBC) for a three-game PBC series.
