MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – A six-run sixth inning opened the door for the University of North Georgia baseball team to take the series opener 12-3 over Georgia College in their road Peach Belt Conference series.
Wes Lott threw all nine innings, totaling 120 pitches, allowing three runs on seven hits.
A close 2-1 game turned in the Nighthawks' favor quickly as
Jace Bowen doubled down the left field line to take a 3-1 before UNG rattled off three straight hits and had five consecutive batters reach base en route to taking an 8-1 lead. Bowen,
Tim Conway and
Connor Frost doubled in the inning as North Georgia took a firm grip on the game.
The Bobcats got two runs back in the seventh, but the Nighthawks added four runs in the top of the ninth to put it out of reach.
Riley Frost led the North Georgia lineup tallying four RBIs on three hits and scoring three runs. Bowen and
Connor Frost registered two RBIs in the game on one hit as the two helped get the rally going in the sixth. Four Nighthawks joined

Edwin Bowman IV,
Justin Bailey,
Andrews Opata and
Jack Davis all recorded two hits in the name as the bottom half of the lineup kept the bases full.
