BEAUFORT, S.C. – A bounce-back victory in its three-game Peach Belt Conference series finished with the University of North Georgia baseball team taking a 5-3 victory over USC Beaufort. Four runs in the top of the ninth gave the Nighthawks the advantage, holding on for the two-run win.
Wes Lott and
Zach Green (W, 3-0) combined for eight and one-third innings pitch before
Ben Koch (S, 4) closed the door, getting the final two outs of the game. Green allowed just two hits and one run in his outing, throwing four innings in relief while striking out four.
Riley Frost and
Tim Conway finished with all of North Georgia's RBIs, with both Nighthawks earning two RBIs on one hit.
Jace Bowen was in the leadoff spot for UNG, giving Frost and Conway opportunities to produce runs by drawing three walks in the game.
Luke Starling and
Mason Steel anchored the 8-9 spots in the order, each earning two hits in the game.

The Nighthawks will look to take the three-game road series tomorrow (Mar. 26) with another noon showdown against USCB.
