Box Score BEAUFORT, S.C. – In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, the University of North Georgia baseball team fell 7-6 in its Peach Belt Conference series opener against USC Beaufort. The Sandsharks came out on top in a back-and-forth affair, with the Nighthawks taking the lead in the top of the eighth before USCB scored two in the bottom half to earn the one-run victory.
Tim Conway led the way in the lineup for North Georgia, earning a hit in all four at-bats, scoring three runs, and driving in three others, with his biggest swing of the night coming in the third inning with a two-run shot to left field driving in
Jace Bowen.
Edwin Bowman IV was the other Nighthawk in the multi-hit club, recording two hits in four trips to the plate and driving in one run.
Justin Bailey finished with one hit, but the lone hit was a productive one, driving in two runs on a single to center field.
