DAHLONEGA – A tightly contested game turned in the late innings, as the University of North Georgia baseball team fell 10-5 to Emmanuel (15-12) in Wednesday's (Mar. 22) matchup against the Lions at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. Emmanuel jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead before North Georgia could settle into the game. The Nighthawks tied it in the sixth, but a five-run ninth inning for EC doomed the Nighthawks' chances for more of their late-game magic.
Dylan Noce was a highlight for the Nighthawks on the mound, throwing five and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing just three hits with two earned runs, and striking out five.
Jace Bowen and
Riley Frost had two hits in the 1-2 spot of the lineup for the Nighthawks.
Connor Frost and
Mason Steel also earned two hits in the game to match the duo at the top of the order.
Edwin Bowman IV helped chip away at the deficit finishing with a team-high two RBIs, driving in a run on a single in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the third.
