DAHLONEGA – Four early runs allowed in the first and second innings were too much to overcome in the University of North Georgia baseball team's 8-3 non-conference loss to Anderson on Tuesday (Mar. 21) night at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. The Nighthawks settled in, looking to mount a comeback, but three runs in the eighth and ninth put UNG out of reach.
Zach Green anchored the bullpen for the middle innings, highlighting the day for the pitching staff, allowing no runs on two hits in two and one-third innings of work.
Riley Frost drove in two runs on a left-field shot in the sixth to bring the Nighthawks within striking distance.
Brady Skipper launched his first career home run to left field to open up the scoring for UNG. The North Georgia bats mustered seven hits in the game but could not string enough together to take down a successful two-pronged attack from Anderson on the hill.
