DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia baseball team could not get the offense rolling in its 7-0 loss to USC Aiken (8-2, 3-0 PBC) in the Peach Belt Conference series finale at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. After coming up just short in the first two games of the series, UNG failed to score a run for the first time this season.
A duo of
Pierce Williams (0-1) and
Daniel Courtney kept North Georgia in the game, with UNG trailing 2-0 up until Courtney ran into trouble in the seventh. Williams went two and one third innings allowing one run in his first start of the year. Courtney pitched four innings of relief, but the two-run seventh inning ended his day with three earned runs on five hits.
USCA's Jacob Fletcher threw eight innings, allowing no runs on three hits to earn the win and move to 2-0 for the Pacers this season.
