DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia baseball team fell 7-3 in the second game of their three-game home Peach Belt Conference series against USC Aiken at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. After battling back from a 3-1 deficit, the Nighthawks came up on the wrong end of a four-run ninth inning from the Pacers.
Josh Sosa and
Jace Bowen led the team in hits, both tallying two singles in the game.
Brady Skipper showed patience at the plate, drawing three walks in his five trips to the plate.
Zach Green and
Pete Weil anchored the bullpen for the Nighthawks by giving up zero runs in their three combined innings of action.
Key Moments
- USCA (7-2, 2-0 PBC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning, and UNG answered with one run of their own in the bottom half.
- Two bases-loaded walks by Skipper and Jorge Arispuro tied the game at three in the seventh inning.
- A sac fly for USCA in the ninth gave the Pacers the lead, but a three-run shot by Luke Parker later in the inning put a cushion on the lead.
