AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 6 University of North Georgia men's golf team used a seven-under par 281 second round to grab sole possession of second place following the first day of competition at the Lander Bearcat Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta. UNG's
Noah Zediker leads the field with a 36-hole total of 138 (72-66).
Zediker's six-under 66 in the second loop was the day's low individual round.
The Nighthawks shot a 290 (+2) in the opening round before charging with a 281 (-7) in the second round. The 281 matched the day's low team score.
Evan Thompson rallied from a slow start to post a 74-69—143 and sits in a tie for eighth heading into tomorrow's final round.

Gabe Larson (74-72—146, t20th) are also lurking in the top-20.
Fifth-ranked Georgia Southwestern is currently in first with a 12-under-par total, seven strokes ahead of the second place Nighthawks. No. 8 Limestone (+4), No. 17 Columbus State (+7) and Clayton State (+10) round out the top five team scores.
The 15-team tournament field features nine teams ranked in the NCAA Division II Bushnell/Golfweek preseason poll.
The third and final round is set to start at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 7,073 yard par 72 track. Forest Hills is where UNG will host the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Championship in May.
