DAHLONEGA - The No. 25 University of North Georgia baseball team dropped a non-conference top 25 matchup to No. 16 North Greenville Wednesday, 6-3.
The Crusaders got on the board first, getting three runs in the second inning off a passed ball, a sacrifice fly and a double to take the early lead. North Georgia answered in the fourth on a
Jake Arnold RBI single that trimmed the lead to 3-1.
North Greenville used a RBI double and RBI single in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead and then extended it in the sixth on another RBI single to put the score at 6-1. The Nighthawks got solo homers from
Nik Levensteins in the sixth and Arnold in the seventh, but could get no closer.
NOTES
- Arnold led UNG at the plate, going 2-for-4.
- This is the first time in the all-time series that the Crusaders have come out on top, snapping a 13-0 start to the matchup in favor of North Georgia.
