DAHLONEGA - The No. 18 University of North Georgia baseball team outscored Southern Wesleyan Tuesday, 11-6.
North Georgia struck first in the first as they plated runs off a
Nik Levensteins two-run homer and a
Riley Frost RBI single to take a 3-0 lead. SWU fought back, scoring single runs in the second and third innings before the Nighthawks answered with a RBI single from
Garrett Hollenbeck in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead.
After
Crews Taylor doubled to score two more in the fifth, the Warriors cut the lead back to one on a three-run homer in the sixth. The Nighthawks responded immediately, scoring off a SWU error, a
Justin Bailey triple and a Taylor single to extend the lead back out to 10-5. Southern Wesleyan scored one in the seventh before North Georgia scored the final run in the eighth on a
Tim Conway sacrifice fly.
NOTES
- Levensteins has now homered in three of the last four games, including hitting three over the last two.
- North Georgia finishes the 14-game homestand at 10-4.
