DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia baseball team finished off the sweep of Mars Hill Sunday with a 12-4 win at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
After two Lions scored in the first two innings, the Nighthawks pushed three runs across in the third off a bases loaded fielder's choice and a
Kaleb Freeman RBI single that scored two. North Georgia scored four more in the fourth on two bases loaded walks and a hit by pitch that pushed the lead to 6-2.
MHU had a sacrifice fly in the fifth before
Tim Conway and
Nik Levensteins had back-to-back RBI doubles in the bottom of the frame, stretching the lead to 8-3. Another Mars Hill sac fly cut the lead to four in the eighth, but North Georgia responded with a
Crews Taylor RBI single right before Conway emptied the bases with a three-run homer to get to the final score.
