DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia baseball team jumped on Mars Hill early and often as they took down the Lions, 12-6, Saturday afternoon.
The Nighthawks loaded up the bases in the second, earning the first run of the game on a walk before
Crews Taylor hit a grand slam to make the score 5-0. After the Lions took one back in the third, North Georgia got it right back as
Jorge Arispuro scampered home on a wild pitch.
The Nighthawks extended the lead in the fourth to 8-1 off a
Kaleb Freeman RBI single and a
Jake Arnold sacrifice fly. Mars Hill scored again in the fifth before the Nighthawks scoerd the next four runs of the contest on a bases loaded walk and wild pitch in the fifth before a two run homer from
Nik Levensteins. Mars Hill scored the final four runs of the game in the last two innings to get to the final score.
NOTES
- Taylor, Arispuro,
Tim Conway and
Connor Frost all finished 2-for-4 at the plate, combining for seven runs scored and five RBI. They also drew a combined four walks.

Pierce Williams (2-0) got the win, going five innings while striking out four. He scattered two runs off five hits and two walks.
