North Georgia Defeats Albany State on the Road

Box Score ALBANY, Ga. – The University of North Georgia women's soccer team defeated Albany State, 2-0,  in their Peach Belt Conference match as the Nighthawks used a high-pressure offensive attack to earn the victory. 

The Nighthawks played on the offensive end of the field for most of the game. UNG took 26 shots placing all 26 shots on frame. The first half ended at 0-0, with Albany State comfortable sitting back defensively and allowing UNG to shoot at will. The Nighthawks split 13 shots in each half evenly.

Alexa Aronoff gave North Georgia the lead in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute. The breakthrough came just three minutes in the second half and was Aronoff's first collegiate goal of her career. Maysoon El-Shami added a penalty kick goal in the 88th minute for her first goal of the season to secure the Nighthawks' 2-0 win over Albany State.
