UNG Falls in Regular Season Finale

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The University of North Georgia women's soccer team lost 4-0 to No. 4 Columbus State in their final game of the regular season. The Nighthawks couldn't capitalize on their scoring opportunities and were shut out for the first time since September 4th.

The Nighthawks failed to clear an early attack by Columbus State, and Rachael Sweigard took advantage in the 3rd minute of the game. Sweigard put Columbus State up 1-0 early, but neither team broke through for the rest of the half.

Sweigard would score again in the 46th minute and once again in the 61st minute to give Columbus State a 3-0 lead and complete the hat trick. Abigal Akerson scored in the 71st minute to cap off the scoring in the contest. The Nighthawks move to 9-3-3 on the season after the loss.
