Sudduth Signs With Washington Wild Things

WASHINGTON, Penn. - Former University of North Georgia baseball player Chase Sudduth is continuing his baseball career by signing with the Washington Wild Things out of the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.

The infielder from Powder Springs, Georgia, signed with the team on June 21 and made his professional debut two days later against Windy City. He collected his first professional hit on June 26, a single in the bottom of the third against Lake Erie.

For North Georgia, Sudduth earned first team All-Peach Belt honors in his senior season and was a consensus second team All-Region player. He hit .321 for his Nighthawk career, tallying 11 homers, 21 doubles and six triples to go with 61 RBI. In 2019, the second baseman had 23 multi-hit games, including 12 with three or more hits. He also reached base in 43 straight games to end the season and had the team's longest hitting streak of 15 games.

Washington plays out of the Frontier League's East Division and will play through September 1 before starting the playoffs on September 3.

Founded in 2001, the Washington Wild Things are a professional baseball team in the Frontier League that plays in Washington, Pennsylvania.
