Rankings: North Georgia jumped two spots to No. 18 a week ago, the highest ranking of the year for UNG. Flagler is also in the poll, climbing one spot to No. 3. New rankings release Tuesday afternoon. The Nighthawks came in at No. 4 in the NCAA Southeast Regional rankings last Wednesday, trailing No. 1 Flagler, No. 2 Lenoir-Rhyne and No. 3 UNC Pembroke. The Braves lost last week, while the Saints and Bears stayed in their winning ways.
Last Week: The Nighthawks finished up Peach Belt play with a pair of wins this week, downing Young Harris in the Battle of Blood Mountain before a 3-1 win over Albany State on Senior Day.
Emmanuel: Emmanuel is 9-7 on the year and 6-5 in Conference Carolinas action. So far this year, the Lions have beaten the likes of Anderson (2-1) and Georgia Southwestern (2-0), while falling to Limestone (3-1) and Young Harris (4-2). The Lions are just 1-3 at home this year. Hannah Logue leads Emmanuel in goals scored this year with 10, adding an assist as well. Hannah Welch has been in goal for every match this season. North Georgia is 3-0 against Emmanuel all-time as the two sides will meet for the first time in 15 seasons Tuesday. The Nighthawks and Lions last played in 2004, a 5-0 win for UNG. Emmanuel has never scored on North Georgia.
Statistics: North Georgia ranks first in the league in goals-against-average, save percentage and shutout percentage. UNG is third in the conference in assists per game, points per game, scoring offense, total assists, total goals and total points. • Morgan Ramby leads the Peach Belt in goals-against-average at .506 and in save percentage at .846. Taylor Malasek is tied for first in the league and fifth in the nation in game-winners with six. She is third in the league in goals scored with 13.
Dumphy Defender of the Week: Olivia Dumphy was named the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week Monday. The senior from Dawsonville, Georgia, scored both goals in the Nighthawks' 2-0 win over Young Harris, both coming on free kicks. She then played 81 minutes and was not on the field when Albany State scored a lone goal in a 3-1 UNG win. Her two goals were her first two of the season while the shutout was the PBC-leading 10th of the year.
