th-ranked University of North Georgia women's soccer team had its season-opening four-match winning streak snapped on Sunday morning with a 1-0 loss to Barry University on the final day of the Marriott Doubletree Panther Invitational.Â
North Georgia (4-1-0) returns to action on Wednesday, September 17 with a 6:00 home match against West Georgia. The win improves Barry to a perfect 3-0-0 on the year.Â
The teams battled to a scoreless draw through the first half with neither team able to mount much offensively. But in the second half, the Bucs won a corner kick and Tamara Vuckovich's service eluded UNG keeper
Mallory Sayre in the box and Amanda Traynor knocked it in with a nifty back-heel shot.
The Buccaneers held a 14-8 advantage in shots including a decisive 10-3 edge in the second half.

The match caps a 1,300 mile road trip for the Nighthawks that covered four states in five days.Â
