Box Score CHARLOTTE, North Carolina | The 10th-ranked University of North Georgia women's soccer team (3-0-0) picked up its first road win of the season taking down Queens University of Charlotte (1-2-0), 2-1, Wednesday evening at the Queens Sports Complex.

The Nighthawk offense saw 19 shots on the night, with 10 of them on goal. Queens came up with eight saves to keep the score close.

Junior midfielder
Sophia Matonak knocked home her first goal of the season in the 28th minute, to put the Nighthawks on the board first.

The Royals found an equalizer in the early minutes of the second half when Kelli Gottry scored in the 49th minute.

Sophomore forward
Jacy Ramey found the back of the net in the 60th minute, on a ball from freshman
Rachel VanHorn, to put North Georgia back on top in the score that proved to be final, 2-1.

The Nighthawks will travel to Melbourne, Florida this weekend for a pair of games in the Marriott Doubletree Panther Invitational, hosted by the Florida Institute of Technology. North Georgia will take on Florida Tech Friday at 7 p.m., and Barry, Sunday at 11 a.m.
