Athletics Hall of Fame
Jim Hyder graduated from North Georgia in 1975 and is one of the most decorated players in UNG men's basketball history. He scored over 1,800 points during his final three seasons as a member of the Saints and earned NAIA All-America honorable mention in back-to-back seasons. Hyder was named the team's Most Valuable Player for three straight years, and still ranks among the best in school history for field goals in a season (282), points in a game (46), field goals in a game (18) and points in a single season with 709.
