TIGERVILLE, S.C. — Another dominant effort for the No. 20 University of North Georgia women's soccer team added another victory in the win column, defeating North Greenville 3-0 on the road. The Nighthawks put on a clinic for all 90 minutes, winning their second straight game and fourth overall.
The newly ranked North Georgia looked the part, continuing a suffocating defense that has allowed just one goal this season in five games.
Adleigh Wheeler got the party started in the 20th minute, notching her second goal of the season.
The Nighthawks wouldn't find another in the first half but came out firing in the second as
Alex Clark put her first goal of the season into the back of the net, assisted by
Nikki Gomez and
Grace McGill. The 2-0 lead would remain until the match's final minute, as
Liv Sullens added another on for good measure, finishing with a 3-0 victory.
It is North Georgia's fourth shutout in five games, with
Sierra Fowler adding another clean sheet to the card. Fowler is assisted by one of the best back lines in NCAA Division II, as the Nighthawks have taken their unbeaten streak to five games. They continue their best start since 2019, a year that saw UNG earn a 16-3-2 record, finishing second in the Peach Belt Conference that season and appearing in the second round of the NCAA DII Southeast Regional.
