MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Falling 4-3, the University of North Georgia men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season against Georgia College and State University in Peach Belt Conference play.
North Georgia dropped the doubles point, but
Joaquin Benoit and
Cole Brainard were able to pick up the lone win in doubles finishing with a 6-2 victory.
Benoit and Brainard added wins in singles to get the Nighthawks within striking distance, with Benoit finishing on top in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Brainard fell in the first set but found his rhythm, breezing in the following two sets, winning 6-7, 6-2, 6-0.
Robin Eldin picked up the third point for UNG, winning the #6 singles flight, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
North Georgia moves to 8-7 overall and 2-3 in PBC play.
