DAHLONEGA – Edwin Bowman IV sent a streaking
Connor Frost home to walk it off in the bottom of the 11th to give the University of North Georgia baseball team a 4-3 victory over Catawba on Wednesday evening at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
After scoring two in the first and one in the third, Catawba would be held scoreless over the game's next eight innings.
Justin Bailey continued his midweek heroics, tying the game in the sixth inning with a two-run shot to left field.
Andrews Opata led the team in hits with two, while six other Nighthawks recorded one hit in the game.
Reid Howard pitched five and one-third innings as the Nighthawks starter, allowing five hits and three runs.

Pete Weil came in for relief, pitching a combined four and two-thirds while allowing just one hit and no runs.
Jack Emacio (1-0) was called upon to work out of a jam with runners on second and third with no outs in the top of the 11th. Emacio forced two straight groundouts with his first two pitches, getting help from two solid defensive plays by
Jace Bowen. Emacio finished with a strikeout to send the Nighthawks to the bottom of the 11th.
Connor Frost reached base in the bottom half of the inning, and Bailey bunted him into scoring position before Bowman IV walked it off with a left-field single.

The Nighthawks (10-8, 4-5 PBC) will face sixth-ranked Columbus State (15-3, 8-1 PBC) for a weekend three-game Peach Belt Conference series.
