DAHLONEGA – In their first midweek matchup of the season, the University of North Georgia baseball team fell short 12-7 in 10 innings against tenth-ranked Montevallo at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. The Nighthawks answered when Montevallo attempted to pull away as the Falcons needed one last push in the bottom of the tenth to come away with a win.
UNG used 14 pitchers in the game, placing some fresh faces on the mound in key moments. The Nighthawks drew six walks in the game with
Justin Bailey highlighting the North Georgia offensive production, finishing with two hits and three RBIs. Bailey tied the game with a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to send it to extras.
The Falcons scored five in the top of the tenth, and UNG failed to answer in the bottom half, moving the Nighthawks to 6-7 on the season.
