ALLENDALE, Mich. - University of North Georgia pole vaulter
Journey Gurley wrapped up her 2022 season at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday afternoon.
Gurley scratched on all three attempts at 3.95 meters in the national finals, hosted by Grand Valley State. It was the first time this season that she lost to a Division II opponent after winning against all other DII opposition.
Over the course of her career, Gurley won a national championship as well as back-to-back Peach Belt Conference crowns, setting the records in the pole vault in both UNG and PBC history along the way. She is still the only PBC athlete to win an outdoor track and field individual championship.
