ATLANTA - The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track and field team was powered by a trio of top 10 finishes in the 1500-meter run to highlight its performance on day two of the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet.
Erin O'Brien paced the Nighthawks with a fourth-place finish, crossing the line in 5:00.11. Tessie Braman followed closely behind in fifth at 5:00.64, while Jordan Starling secured sixth place with a time of 5:00.67 to give North Georgia three runners inside the top 10.
Katie Harper added a top 20 finish in the event with a time of 5:19.38, while Teagan Lamp also placed inside the top 20 in 5:27.45. Harleigh Smith rounded out the Nighthawks' efforts in the 1500 with a time of 5:32.70.
In the 800-meter race, Aubrey Dishman led North Georgia with a 13th-place finish after posting a time of 2:21.01. Ahna Hicks followed in 15th at 2:22.34, while Natalie Long (2:27.63) and Harper (2:31.24) also competed in the event.
North Georgia returns to action March 10-11 at the Lee Fast Break Athletics Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee.
