ATLANTA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track and field team opened competition Friday at the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet, highlighted by a pair of top-five finishes in the 5,000 meters.
Erin O'Brien led the way for the Nighthawks with a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the line in 19:15.00. Tessie Braman followed closely behind in fourth place with a time of 19:24.90, while Jordan Starling added a seventh-place finish in 19:38.97.
Harleigh Smith placed 17th in the event with a time of 20:34.73, and Teagan Lamp rounded out North Georgia's competitors in the race, finishing in 21:09.43.
In the 1,500-meter invitational, Aubrey Dishman paced the Nighthawks with an 11th-place finish in 4:51.61, while Ahna Hicks came in 15th with a time of 4:58.79.
Elizabeth Padilla Brun represented North Georgia in the 200 meters, posting a time of 36.70.
The Nighthawks return to action Saturday, competing in the 1,500 meters, 400 meters and 800 meters to close out the meet.
