AUBURN, Ala. - Journey Gurley finished in a tie for third place at the War Eagle Invitational to lead the University of North Georgia track and field team this weekend.
Gurley cleared 4.07 meters on her second attempt, beating numerous Division I pole vaulters in the event.
North Georgia also had top 10 finishes from
Karmen LeRoy (6th, 18:22.93) and
Emily McBride (7th, 18:23.00) in the 5K, finishing just under a minute off the pace in the race. McBride also led UNG in the steeplechase, finishing in ninth in the 3000 meter race with a time of 11:20.28.
Claire Mills finished the steeplechase one spot back at 11:32.49.
The 4x400 meter relay team finished in eighth place as
Emery Ryan,
Mariah Millsap,
Korey Dickerson and
Ella Stoudenmire ran to a time of 4:07.16.
North Georgia will now turn their attention to the Peach Belt Conference Championships next weekend at Embry-Riddle.
