DAHLONEGA - The No. 12 University of North Georgia women's soccer team will play host to No. 11 Columbus State in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinal round Tuesday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex at Lynn Cottrell Park.
The Nighthawks earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament for the second straight year. UNG finished the regular season with a 7-2 mark and will be seeking their first tournament title after reaching the championship game in 2014, 15 and 16. The Nighthawks have won five of their last six entering the tournament.
North Georgia will host No. 3 seed Columbus State. The Cougars have won eight PBC Tournaments, including the 2018 title, and are ranked No. 11 in the nation with a 5-1-1 record. CSU finished their conference play back on March 21, but have kept sharp with exhibition games at D1 programs South Alabama and Mississippi State.
The Nighthawks defeated Columbus State in the regular season, 1-0, with a
Megan Dumond 69th minute goal.
Ticket information will be announced Monday morning.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be carried on the Nighthawk Sports Network.
