Clayton State: Clayton State is 9-3 on the year and 1-0 in league play. They last took on Flagler a week ago, downing the Saints, 2-1, on the road. Riding a two-match winning streak, the Lakers rank third in the nation in save percentage, 11th in shutout percentage and 12th in goals against average thanks to the efforts of Theo Blachon in between the posts. Offensively, CSU is 21st in scoring offense nationally as well as 27th in tota goals and 31st in points per game. Clayton State holds a 14-3-3 record against North Georgia all-time, defeating UNG in the last meeting through a shootout in the Peach Belt quarterfinal in Dahlonega. The match officially ended in a 0-0 draw before the Lakers advanced on penalties, 5-4. The Nighthawks are 2-9 away from home against Clayton State.
Lander: Lander is 6-3-2 on the year headed into a non-conference tilt with No. 13 Carson-Newman Wednesday night at home. The Bearcats are 2-1 in league play. If Lander falls to C-N Wednesday, they will stay in their first losing streak since the opening weekend of the 2016 season. Max Bolton leads LU in goals and points, scoring five times and adding two assists for 12 points. Jacob Withers is the only keeper to have seen time in goal, giving up 13 goals while making 30 saves. Lander leads the all-time series, 11-3-2, and are unbeaten in the last eight matchups, going 6-0-2, including winning the PBC Championship on penalties in 2017. The last win for UNG, however, came at home in 2011, a 3-0 win for North Georgia. The Nighthawks hold a 2-5 record at the UNG Soccer Complex against the Bearcats.
Statistics: North Georgia ranks first in the Peach Belt and 18th in Division II in saves per game at 6.10. The Nighthawks rank third in the PBC in shots per game and save percentage. Conner Domaleski leads the league in saves per game, averaging 5.5 saves each time between the posts. He ranks fourth in the conference in saves with 33. Donovan Odier ranks in the top five in the Peach Belt in four statistical categories: game-winners (1st, 2); goals per game (4th, 0.50); total goals (3rd, 5); and total points (4th, 11).
