DAHLONEGA – Senior women's soccer player Renee VanHorn has been named the Einstein's Bagels Nighthawk of the Week for Sept. 24 as announced by the UNG athletic department on Monday.

VanHorn pushed her team-high goal count to five as she scored in each of the Nighthawks' two wins on the week. She tallied the game-winner in UNG's 2-1 home win over No. 13 Georgia College on Wednesday.  VanHorn's goal in Sunday's 4-1 road win at Francis Marion was also credited as the game-winner.

The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Einstein Brothers Bagels of Dahlonega, with each week's winner being treated to a free coffee and bagel at the Dahlonega restaurant.  Located in the food court of the Hoag Student Center, Einstein Bros. Bagels is your neighborhood bagel shop. Einstein's proudly serves its guests with freshly baked bagels, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, coffee, catering and so much more.
 
Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
