DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) Director of Compliance for the Department of Athletics
Denise Bryant has announced her planned retirement effective at the end of January.
Bryant has been a cornerstone of UNG for over three decades. She has served North Georgia in numerous capacities, including the Department of Education, health and physical education, sports information director and senior woman administrator.
With 32 years dedicated to athletics including the past 21 as director of compliance, Bryant currently stands as the longest-tenured member of UNG's athletic department and staff.
"For more than 34 years, Denise has been an integral part of this university and our athletics department," stated Director of Athletics
Mary Rob Plunkett. "Her leadership, integrity and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way shaped our compliance program and positively impacted countless coaches, staff members and student-athletes. We are incredibly grateful for her service and the standard of excellence she leaves behind."
In April 2022, Bryant was recognized for her 30 years of individual service and dedication to UNG during the 2022 Service Award and Retiree Receptions, a testament to her long-standing dedication and meaningful contributions to North Georgia.
Bryant retires after making a lasting impact on UNG athletics and the university, concluding a career built on professionalism, dedication and leadership.
A national search for Bryant's replacement will begin later this semester.
