DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) Department of Athletics has announced that Caitlin Fowble will be joining the team as the new Director of Communications beginning December 1. Fowble comes to Dahlonega from NCAA Division II Texas A&M International where she served as the Assistant Director of Sports Information.

At TAMIU, she was the lone communications contact for the department's 11 sports and the Dustdevil All-Access offered through the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.

"Caitlin brings a dynamic vision for storytelling and a deep understanding of both the modern media and broadcasting landscape and how effective communication is at the core of a successful athletics program," stated Morgan May, Assistant Athletic Director, Communications & Marketing and chair of the search committee. "She will share our story and brand with creativity and consistence as we pursue championships and provide a first-class experience for our student-athletes."

She graduated from Arizona State with a Master of Arts in Sports Journalism from ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Integrated Media with an emphasis in Broadcast from Biola.

While at ASU, Fowble served as a Production Assistant at the Pac-12 Network, where she gained invaluable experience in sports broadcasting and production. Her time as part of the Arizona State Athletics Stream Team further honed her skills in digital media, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of live sports broadcasting in a digital age. The ASU Stream Team is a collaboration between the Cronkite School, the Pac-12 Network and Sun Devil Athletics where students coordinate most elements of the production.

Fowble was also chosen to participate in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in June of 2022. The event is an annual three-day educational program that brings together 200 selected NCAA student-athletes to learn about and explore potential careers in sports, particularly college athletics.
A standout student-athlete in her own right, Fowble made her mark on the softball field as an outfielder at Biola. Competing in the highly competitive PacWest Conference, she was part of the 2021 team that finished as NCAA Division II West Region champions and the eventual D2 National Championship runner-up.

The Simi Valley, Calif. native has additional experience with Arizona PBS and the Orange County Riptide, a summer collegiate baseball league, where she was a summer sports information intern.
