Game Preview: The University of North Georgia women's soccer team will open Peach Belt Conference play against No. 13 Georgia College at home Wednesday night at the UNG Soccer Complex before a Sunday afternoon match against Francis Marion.

Last Week: The Nighthawks upset the 18th ranked Limestone Saints on the road, 3-1, behind a strong offensive output. Dani Shartouny scored the first goal before Limestone tied the match. Abbie Crane and Taylor Malasek scored the final goals of the match.
 
Scouting Georgia College: The Bobcats are 5-0-1 on the year and are coming off their first non-win of the season. GC drew with Lander to open PBC play, conceding their first goal of the season to the Bearcats.
 
Series Versus Georgia College: North Georgia is 9-5-3 against the Bobcats all-time. UNG has won eight of the last ten and hasn't lost to the Bobcats since 2012. Wednesday's meeting will be exactly 14 years since the first meeting between the two schools, a 1-0 win for North Georgia in 2004.

Scouting Francis Marion: The Patriots are 2-2-0 on the season headed into a Friday afternoon matchup against Young Harris. Due to Hurricane Florence, the Patriots have had to make numerous changes to their schedule.
 
Series Versus Francis Marion: North Georgia is 2-0-0 all-time since FMU started their women's soccer program in 2016. The Nighthawks have outscored the Patriots, 9-0, in the two meetings combined.

PBC Statistical Leaders: The Nighthawks currently lead the Peach Belt Conference in goals scored, points, shots per game and corner kicks. UNG is third in the league in assists.

Regional Rankings: The Nighthawks are currently ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region poll, up two spots from a week ago.

PBC Openers: North Georgia has won its last nine PBC openers, dating back to 2009. The Nighthawks have outscored their opponents 27-7 in those matches. This will be the third year in a row and fourth in the last five years that North Georgia has opened Peach Belt Conference play against Georgia College.

Against The Nation's Best: This is the first time in program history that North Georgia has played back-to-back matches against top-20 teams. The Nighthawks have won three of their last four against ranked opponents
