DAHLONEGA - After a fourth consecutive 30-win season, the University of North Georgia baseball team has earned the fifth seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference baseball tournament and will start pool A play Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. against fourth-seeded UNC Pembroke.
Friday's game will be played at Flagler's Drysdale Field before the Pool A action moves to St. Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida, on Saturday. North Georgia will play eighth-seeded Lander at 10 a.m. Saturday morning before a 5 p.m. showdown with top-seeded Georgia College.
Pool B play will start at 5 p.m. Friday night at Drysdale Field with sixth-seeded Flagler taking on third-seeded Columbus State before an 8:30 matchup between No. 7 Young Harris and No. 2 USC Aiken. Pool B play will continue Saturday at Drysdale Field with games at the same times as Pool A action.
The winner of Pool A will take on the winner of Pool B in the PBC Championship game on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. back at Drysdale Field.
The Nighthawks are 30-20 on the year and are 4-5 this season against Pool A opponents, taking at least one win from each team during the regular season.
